Sunset is best viewed with an ice cream cone in hand, perched on the edge of the North Pier, feet dangling above the Black River's peaceful waters. Sending a member of your party ahead for a table at your favorite joint is a must. The Kal-Haven Trail is a great way to explore another side of South Haven. These are just some of answers you'll here from locals when asked about advice for someone visiting from out of town. Dyckman Bridge Schedule

Dyckman Avenue Bascule Bridge will open for boating traffic on the following schedule:

Effective May 15, 2015 the bridge will operate on the hour and half hour as follows:

Monday thru Thursday 7:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m.

Friday 7:00 a.m. - midnight

Saturday & Sunday 6:00 a.m. - midnight

Holidays 6:00 a.m. – midnight

Bangor South Haven Heritage Water Trail

The Bangor South Haven Heritage Water Trail is a paddlecraft route following the Black River from Bangor to South Haven .  Note that the route between Bangor and CR 384 has many downed trees and requires many portages to pass them.  From CR 384 to South Haven is listed as clear, but this can change as trees topple into the water.

10,000 Steps in South Haven

The South Haven Harborwalk is a popular place to get your steps.  If you enjoy walking or jogging for fitness, and like to see others out doing the same thing, the Harborwalk is the place to be.

South Haven’s ‘Light up the Lake’ Fireworks, July 3, 10:30 p.m.

The evening before Independence Day, South Haven holds a spectacular display of fireworks over Lake Michgan.

Starting at 10:30 p.m. on July 3, the fireworks are expected to last for about a half hour.

The harbor will be full of boat traffic on its way to anchor out in Lake Michigan for the best view.

The event is expected to cost $34,000.  Light Up the Lake Fireworks is funded entirely by donors from the community.

2015 Queen’s Cup - Sailboat Race Across Lake Michigan, Milwaukee to South Haven

South Haven Municipal Marina welcomes the 2015 Queen's Cup yachting race to South Side Marina on Friday, June 26 and Saturday, June 27.  This is the 77th annual Queen's Cup event.

South Haven Harborfest

South Haven Municipal Marina welcomes the Annual Harborfest!

Free live music all weekend, craft fair, food vendors, beer tent, all right on the Harbor and overlooking the South Haven Lighthouse.
